Maciste Rosso

Richly textured, Appasimento wines are a calling card to the region of Veneto. Named after the horse on the label, and meaning strong/powerful in Italian, this is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet and Corvina and is produced using the Apassimento method,whereby the harvested grapes are dried out over the winter months in drying houses, during which time they will lose about 30% of their water content, leaving their remaining juice with a high sugar content and intense flavour. The Appassimento leads to a higher concentration of the juice inside the berries, which then gives to the wine more body and structure.
